EGR Blocker Plate - What Material?

OK...I got the location right this time and I have some thick (3/16") Aluminum layin around but the question is...

Will aluminum be ok for the blocker or will it melt? Are the temps just too high for aluminum and if so...what material would you recommend?

I wouldn't recommend aluminum. 18ga steel plate would be a better choice. It's what I used, anyhow.

X2 - except I used 16 ga steel.
