Curious...how many have had to trim shroud for fan to clear? How many let fan make it's own clearance?

ON my old 95 Tahoe I did not have to trim it.

Mine has plenty of room, almost 1/4 in. all the way around.

When I had a 6.5 I was fine until I put in new motor mounts. Once I did them I had to grind back about a 1/4" as it would hit going into gear.

Mine just touched when in gear or something?? It self clearanced in about 1k miles.

I trimmed the top half only. I probably would have been OK, but in the past my wife has accused me of being OCD. I now have about 3/8ths" clearance on the top half, more than that for the bottom half.

I had to trim the top of mine too. ...new motor mounts went in just prior to the purchase of the Dmax fan.

Wow, i had to do the opposite of everyone. I had to trim about 1/4 off the lower shroud. I didnt want to self clearence due to plastic fins...

I did it on the the lower and the top. Didnt have to but I did

Mine fit just fine on the '96. Close, but no trimming needed.

Both my 98's required trimming, I used my dremel tool with a carbide cutter to close cut when cold, letting the fan cut it's own clearance not the way to go IMO as you don't know what imbalance may be if you let it self cut.

Same as me my top cleared but bottom did not, and I had to trim a little more after new engine mounts installed on the truck

Depends on the 6.5
Had to trim top shroud only. It had a CH of room, maybe enough to slide a piece of paper between... MAYBE... Trimmed the entire lip off the top.
