i just wanted to say thanks.. had some issues a several weeks ago (month +) and with your guys help, TDoc, Jifaire, Matt, Chevy1500 to name a few, diagnosed and repaired the problems with minimal $ invested.. and my truck has been running great (knock knock knock on wood)

instead of what happened to a friend and his 2005 powerstroke about a week ago.. got his truck back today and $2680 later, all for a $168 high pressure oil sensor (1 of 2 it has) that killed power to the IP and blew the turbo.. who knows how those 2 are related.. but whatever... ford!! go figure

you guys are great

Hey jim, thanks for letting us know how things are going!

For the record, we're all just happy to help... this 6.5TD family sticks together and everybody helps each other and learns from each other.

I love this place!

So what did you guys fix on it?

had a WIF issue.. which i thought.. "ok, water in fuel, itll burn away till the next tank".. but these guys directed me NOT to drive it cause alot worse mght happen, so after 31 miles i dropped the tank and probably saved the IP, the fuel that came out was a thick biege color..

then started throwing consistant IP codes.. i was thinkin the worse..

severe loss of power, hard starting, stalling..

severe knocking coming from inside the oil pan, then all over the crank area.. i thought it was a rod bearing.. but trans was seperated from engine which cracked the flexplate

all these turned out to be nothing.. i spent maybe $160 in misc parts

then the PMD was hinting it wanted to go on vacation.. so i replaced it before it left me somewhere

then it left me in south jersey..at 11pm..

gave them the heads up on certain procedures i did to see whats up, relayed it here, they led me in the right direction, and they nailed it.. bad 7 month old LP.. so i swapped it out the next day for an older year LP which specs out to have better flow and higher pressure at WOT, these guys recommended the older LP..

im not new to diesels.. just new to the 6.5.. and these guys are great.. if you do a search for posts made by me, the individual threads will pop up including one with the pics of the fuel that came out of my tank back then

and then ofcoarse the little cheap mods.. like the 10k resistor mod for the turbo, cant beat it for $4.43
