I have replaced everthing under the hood engine IP and drove it for a couple of hundred miles. Got air and fuel leak and got 1214 code. I got rid of leaks. My tdc offset is -3.7 on mt2500 with actuall timin g at 13. I went to remove the code to do koko relearn. Did relearn and now have 20 dtc's. I'm thinking I have a ground problem for all these codes to show up. The pcm says it has data interuption and the sensors say the same thing values to high/low simultaneously. Does this sound like the issue?

Today I am going to try my other PMD to see if codes go away. The codes are saying tcc locked, sensor values to high cylinder imbalance fault, air temp values to high/low. boost sensor high/low pcm error/communication interuption. The list goes on and seems to change. Will change grounds as soon as spool of braid shows up. I think I pinched wires when installing intake. The truck ran fine with no issues and still runs fine. The last thing changed was fuel solenoid that was leaking and fuel heater. Also will install clear tube on IP to make sure air is gone. Is there something I am overlooking?

They will all be removed and replaced. I'll start with all those and check codes again. I tried my other PMD, codes cleared for a couple of minutes. Truck still starts as soon as key is turned and smooth at idle. Just puff of smoke initally then clear. If I was going to use stranded wire, what guage wire would I use? Thanks for your input, this truck is not going to stop until everything is replaced.

Ok, Today I pulled the intake and rerouted the wiring to the IP as it was pinching here and there and no wire damage though. Checked ground at IP and cleaned grounds particularly the braided one on the firewall under heater hoses that was a chololate mess. I followed IP harness through the firewall and found a overheated plug A large red wire and black one that looks to feed the computer and the IP and heads for the steering column I guess. Will a bad ground overheat that plug or am I overlooking another problem. I PT wiring the battery cables and glows. All fuel leaks resolved and the lift pump works fine, the truck starts and idles fine.

Overheated wiring sources: Bad connection on + or - side, damaged wire, too much load, external heat source. Even if you find a bad connection elsewhere in the circuit- if there is discoloring involved that part highly suspect to failure.

I have had problems in multiple vehicles even after cleaning the braided ground wire that whenever possible I will replace it with or add another ground wire. On my rig I have 1/0 running bat to frame, frame to body, engine to frame.

Today I tried a different set of snap on cartidges and all the codes left except a wastegate solenoid code. I went and and found the solenoid in the junkpile and plugged it in. Did relearn and we are good to go. The grounds and everthing else I did made me find exhaust issues and lots of things that needed attending. Glasd it was the brick causing the problem. I still have a mystery drip of diesel and will ferret that out before getting inspection tomorrow.

That big red wire on my truck goes to the light switch. I have had issues with that one too. But mine is a cab n chassis, however.

My lights are on relayed harness, but still glad I found it and repaired it.
