hey folks just retreived my first code with the new motor. its 78, which thanks to this site i now know is a turbo wastegate solenoid fault. my question is, i have a t/m boost controller. what do i need to do to keep this code from repeatedly popping up?no idea where to start, thanks for any and all suggestions:cool:

either loosen the mechanical wastegate actuator (spring) so you get less boost, or make a boost fooler.

You are probably over boosting, meaning when accelerating onto the interstate, you have 11psi, but the PCM only expected 7psi for those 20 seconds.

x2 with Buddy. It will pop out as soon as you are close to 9 psi. In my case, it does not affect any performance.

To eliminate it, either put a boost fooler potentiometer on the MAP sensor (cheap) or get a performance reflash (expensive).

I recommend loosening the wastegate for best economy with stock program that doesnt need more than 10psi sustained boost with its fueling range, and you only want 2-3psi when flat cruising.

ok ill loosen the spring for now but when i change to the e-prom chip do i need the fooler you mentioned? and if so how do i make that. i dont recall reading about that.or maybe direct me to a specific article in the archives. thanks for the replies, ive been wondering how to get a baseline adjustment on that t/m spring for a while, now i know. thanks again.
