Ds 4 timing without a tech II ?

Ok, I tried to search this forum but didn't find anything, I need to adjust the timing on a friends DS 4 and I don't have a scanner. I have only adjusted the timing on my modified DB2 converted 6.5 but not a DS4. I here you can time the DS4 by ear and the seat dyno like the DB2. black smoke and you retard white and you advance. Anybody got any tips or suggestions?

Look in post #3, you still need a bi-directional scanner to read the TDCOffset.

if you have a scanner that can read TDCO then you could use the KOKO method and lots of trial and error.
