I am on my 3rd set of door speakers for my truck and the drivers side is out again. I put a new set of Alpine speakers in back in Oct/Nov and the drivers side lasted til March. I took the truck to the dealership to have the chime turned down with the Tech II but they said my radio wasn't one that was covered in the recall but they did show me how to turn it down with the radio. I did that and here it is less then 2 months later and the drivers side speaker is out again and the passenger side sounds like its going as well. I'm fed up with this. I don't know what else that I can do short of having a professional install some speakers and hope they go out during the warranty period. I don't understand why the speakers keep failing. Any help?

do a new radio. one thing i have been told is that the stock units do not put out enough power so the speakers have to work themselves harder to compensate. by instolling a new radio, i like the alpine i have) the speakers dont have to work as hard and will not blow.

my two pennies.
