List and describe any other factors which are not addressed in this checklist. We can’t see, hear, smell, or touch your truck, so the more descriptive information you can give, the more likely it is that somebody can assist you.

I purchased this truck in 2000 with 59,000 miles on it. I have replaced the IP twice, the last one three yrs. ago when the "service throttle soon" light came on. I tow a 16 ft. trailer all summer long and plow snow in the winter. In may 09 I replace the fuel tank, sending unit, lines and LP and filter. The quitting problem went away but resurfaced in Oct. 09 and then ran fine until Jan. 8th while plowing snow._________________________________

you need to extend that pressure guage so it can be read from in the truck while driving. Sure sounds like a fuel issue

Are you sure your locking fuel cap is for a 6.5 diesel???? IIRC there was someone else on here who had an issue with one that would not hold the tank psi or vac the right way. I dont remember which we are supposed to have.

My bet is on the intake mounted fsd.

I just reread the checklist, it doesn't sound like the fsd is on the intake. I just assumed it was because it is ssd. I would also check the ext. harness connections.

NVW, it is on the intake! 625 Fireman, yes it is a locking cap for the diesel fuel fill neck!
Whats going on stranger, aside from the truck issues?
Shoot me a PM and maybe we can try to figure out both of our truck issues. I may still have your number in my PM's but not sure, been busy here and Kim wrecked her van, not her fault but still a hindrence.
Let me know and hope you get it figured out soon.

You DO realize that mounting an FSD on the intake is not a good thing, right?

See if somebody near you has one you can try - it's hard to diagnose when it starts back up after stalling, but that would be my guess... leave the fuel cap loose so the tank has lots of vent, just to rule that out.

JiFaire, no I did not know mounting a pmd on the intakes was bad and I'll put the old fuel cap back on! Agent Skeeter, I think I still have your number somewhere around here!

Keith, some people mount their FSD on the intake and have no problems, but overall, I've not been impressed with that location. Some fail in as little as 2 months, few make it past 2 yrs.

It's HOT there, and getting rid of heat from the PMD is a matter of having some kind of temperature differential between the heatsink and the surrounding air; the greater the differential, the faster it can shed heat. If the air is hot enough, it won't shed heat.

Mounting them outside the engine compartment, they never get too hot to handle. I'm surprised Leroy didn't tell you that... did you buy the PMD from him, or just a cable?

I tell everyone that informs me they are running a PMD inside the engine bay.

How the heck did you know if he has one of mine? I can't even be sure without looking it up.

Leroy, I did buy one from you May 09 BUT have not installed it yet! I know, I'm a procrastinator! JiFaire, I can't believe a pmd, especially a new "upgraded" Grey pmd form Stanadyne would go bad in a few months, BUT anything is possible!

LOL... The Bear knows, Leroy ...

Actually - look at his answer to 3b] in the checklist in post #1... I knew he had a newer PMD from somebody, and I knew he bought a cable from you.

Great, thanks again. I/we can not stress enough to get the PMD outside engine compartment. If you have not allready done it, you need to check the grounds at pass side rear of intake. On my truck I tried to start it with the intake off after an IP R&R before buttoning everything up. It would not even start until I grounded those wires, so if they are loose/bad I can see them giving an intermentant stalling problems.

Oh man, I read that like 3 times to and did not see it. (It was late, my eyes were tired :eek:hmy1:)
I need to come up with a "sexy" name so pepole are more inclined to add my products to there signature??

I have a DBA on file for another business called "Magnum Pools Inc" that I never used. Change it up alittle to "Magnum Products Inc". I have been thinking for the past couple of years to attach Magnum to my products names, so customers can identify them better and say
"I have a Magnum P.I. cable on my truck" :D
Remember the show back in the 80's with Tom Cellic?
