A friend going into his kids dodge engine oil pan found this plastic thing. Anybody know what this is? Or where to find pushrods, lifters, etcimage.jpg

It goes into the pickup screen. It spaces the screen off the bottom of the pan. Common engine killer, it pops out and pan bottom flexes up. Oil starvation and boom.

This one died from the oiling problem of rods 5/6.
Less than 500 miles on rebuild and the main caps are coming back off in my garage this time.

Considering fixing this 360 vs swap for 6.2/6.5

If you know where to find bearing clearance specs, it would help...

Bingo
I have a 74 Service manual and can look them up tonight
If you do not find them today post back
If you have it apart port the oil pump (round the corners) and check clearances
check all the holes in the block for crap
I've never had a problem with the pans but good to know- must have been left out on ones I've seen
