Do you have to pull the battery and battery box to remove the inner fender on a 96 Suburban?

Is it set up different than a 95? On my 95 the battery and box just hung there after the inner fender was gone.

Cool. That's what I was hoping to hear. Never having had to pull the inner fender before, I was going to pull the battery & box first.

short answer , no however the tray may sag a little and be difficult to reinstall the wheelwell. You may need to remove the battery. depends. Sometimes I did, sometimes I did not.

Found out it was a definate yes on my truck.

The hold down screw was run clean through into the inner fender. I never noticed that little bit of screw sticking through. Couldn't figure out why the inner fende was hanging up.

The battery and box seemed to be moving a lot. When I took the battery and box out I found that 2 of the bolts for the battery tray were not installed. The screw through the inner fender must have been doing all the work. 12 years or so & I never noticed. LOL

WOW! Good thing mine arent that way. Mine just hang there and I have someone pick the battery up when its time to reinstall.

It took me longer to round up battery cable extensions to run the truck than it took to take the battery and battery box out.
