Do Not Do This On Vacation

Bison are badass.

A bison ranch used to operate across the east fence of our property. Those bad boys could jump over a seven strand barbed wire fence, and can easily jump across a cattle guard gate.

When one would get over the fence onto our place, I made sure that the kids and dogs stayed in until the owner could come over to get it. It was quite a rodeo sometimes, and usually ended with the bison jumping back over the fence.

When they had a bison ranch near where I grew up they were not allowed to even use barb wire, they had so build special fence and it had to be over 7 ft high because they could jump. Same with the moose that are starting to roam around here, dont get too close, they done see well, but they move really fast when they smell you

Funny how they don't mention it being hit by a thrown stick. Story makes it out like the bison did it for no reason.

Went to Yellowstone one winter with my soon-to-be-wife years ago. Rented a 2 seat snowmobile to cruise the park. Big herd of buffalo in the middle of one of the roads I wanted to go down. There were people riding past the herd so close you could reach out and touch one of them. I just turned around and when another way. No way was I getting anywhere near them. I didn't care how many rode past them without issues. You just never know

This one does:

They even lie about hitting it with a stick. "If you watch the video form the beginning, you can see something white on it".....yeah, it's called it's horns you liar. If you look closely, you can clearly see the white stick come from the sky, cross the green background and bounce off the Bison's back. Liars. Show some character, say you f-d up and take your medicine. maybe the next morons will learn something from your stupidity.

This is why I hate (and hate is a word I try to avoid using) the F'n media. They get things wrong and leave things out intentionally to "sensationalize" a story.

Journalistic integrity has become and oxymoron....

I was just in that area of Yellowstone in June, some idiot was gored the first day we were there. The level of stupidity of people is astounding, I cant believe that more arent killed there based on what we saw.

Meh, just natural selection at work.

I say let all the morons run free and we'll have a better gene pool to draw from....

Like you said it can be a self correcting problem. Back in 2006 I was out in South Dakota at one of the parks and some Jap tourist were getting real close to a huge herd of Bison. I kept thinking any minute that they were going to be mashed sushi. They had no clue how fast those suckers can run.
