So what spring tension should I get to make an effective homemade turbomaster. i just broke my vaccum line and the turbo is already off so it would be nice to just do it now. im trying to copy mfgguru's diy turbomaster so any advice would be appreciated. I dont have a boost gauge so i would be setting it by how much smoke the truck makes.

Great invention that TM is. Problem is you NEED a boost gauge if you build one. Ya don't want to be "that guy" on this site spitting head bolts because you were too cheap to throw a gauge on LOL.

wont the truck defuel at 11 psi with the stock programming. i thought head bolt spitting happened at around 16, 17 psi

I know TD ran his wired shut for a few years without going into dangerous territory IIRC. either way. get a boost gauge in there, why havn't you already?

A little bit about money and im a little too lazy i guess to hook it up. talked to the parts guy at the dealership and he said i could use brake line or copper wire so im going to pick up some tommrrow. btw they dont make that vaccum hose anymore.

As a test, with boost & EGT gauges, and an IC keeping the IAT in check. I also ran with my TM cranked down pretty healthy, that would allow for 15 psi boost, but diminished returns as backpressure of turbo would limit effectiveness of the boost produced at those levels.

As far as spring tension, you would have to have the exact spring type as sombebody else used for their tension length recommendations to be valid, but that would be a generic recomendation, as nuiances as how your truck/turbo is working will differ from anothers somewhat, need to get gauges any time one is deviating from factory IMO only way to KNOW what your truck is doing.

I think you mean copper tube, get some copper gauge line at auto part store it will be easier to manipulate than steel brake line.

copper tube is what i meant but i already bent the brake line and everything is in place. just putting in the intake manifold now. and all the connections.
