I really hope this doesn't get relocated from this section! I want it to be viewed. But I started doing this diesel specifications project for a statistics class in college last year and just had some basic information in it. I decided today to update it to the best of my ability and post it for all to enjoy. Spent about 4 hours researching the rest of the information I didn't have today and organizing it. I know there is probably a few things wrong here and there but I believe for the most part it is correct. I found what I could to use. I use to look up some of these specs and always had to bounce between internet sites, so I figured why not organize it into once solid section. If you have comments, please be gentle :) I hope everybody enjoys this.

had no idea the 6.0L Powerstroke was rated so much on HP. good info.

OK, there is definitely not a lot out there about the 4BD2's but this is what I managed to scrape up in about an hour.

Also I noticed an error I didn't catch. The 24 valve Cummins ISB Stroke should be 4.72 inches. Not 4.25 inches. No idea how I made that kind of a mess up. Sorry guys

I corrected the Cummins stroke.
This is a nice spec sheet and I can assure you that we all appreciate you putting it together. Not so sure it ONLY should be located in the 6.5 performance section since the 6.5 is a very small part of it. I am going to edit it some to add space to highlight the division lines between types.
Thanks again. I'm gonna see what the guys are wanting to do about location.

I just figured if it was in this section it would get read the most, and highlight away. It looked a lot better in Microsoft word haha no, go ahead, organize it however. If you can, correct the cummins stroke error please. thank you

Not trying to be too critical as this is good info, but where all did you get your info? I'm pretty good on diesel specs, and I found quite a few errors in your info. There are others I'm not sure about so I didn't put anything there.

I really hope this doesn't get relocated from this section! I want it to be viewed. Yeah, I know there was a lot left out FERMANATOR and I was actually counting on that. I didn't know every detail and I thought that people would chime in with what I didn't have. I was hoping with all of this information and all the included information, that we could edit it and in the end have a very detailed sheet instead of what I put up. I figure I would get it started though and have people chime in along the way and like I said slowly edit it until we have covered everything we can. the more detailed it can be, the better, so don't be afraid to chime in people and then we can have the mods edit and revise until it is as accurate as possible. That was the point of doing this, and so we could all enjoy it and spread our knowledge further

And it was hard to get a lot of consistent information between all the sites I was going through which kind of explains why I did leave a lot out. I wanted it to be able to be built upon like I said. And I wouldn't say go as far as to call them errors, just things that need built upon :)

You've already done a great job. Pat yourself on the back man. Don't beat yourself up over a few errors or missing info. We'll ALL get it how it needs to be.

Good info, Cummings weighs 1150!!
Yup. Most bench racers don't consider this when comparing the ISB to the 6.X engines. So NO ISB powered 1/2 tons or sport-utes (OEM any way). And that is why the ISA (and the similar Isuzu) makes a lot of sense in Suburbans if you have got to ditch the 6.x. If you consider the power to weight ratio the 6.x beats the Cummings six, and its a bit cheaper to build (looking at the price premium between diesel Dodges and GMC's back in the day).

There is a 5.9 12V Dodge Ramcharger around here built by a diehard Mopar fan. Its 4x4 and has 3/4 ton axles. Looks perfectly stock. I badly wanted to do the same to mine, not so keen on that now.

I am sure the mods will put it as a sticky when we get consistent accurate information that is right. And I am not beating myself up over some errors. I knew there was going to be some. Like I said, I just did it to get the ball rolling and then other people can come in and correct it. I think it will be nice when it is done. FERMANATOR did a great job at correcting the information I posted, and I believe he is pretty right on with his information, so big thanks goes out to him as well. And even over time maybe add bits and pieces just beyond what was listed, such as cooling details, fuel rates, turbo designations w/years, etc. That stuff. I am not sure how readily available that information is though. Who knows. I think with just the information we got now, it is pretty nice. It would make a good reference for anybody who wishes to know.

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here and I am glad that people are willing to help make this more accurate and enjoyable for everyone else.
