Has anybody actually tried it ? I am seriously contemplating it but having no experience with the Compushift I'm leary about blowing 1200$. I have read it is a better standalone than the TCI unit and easier to install.
Also aside from the cruise control not working what other issues will arise from the conversion ? Will the tach still work ?

Opti shift and Pcs are only $590. Jakes Performance full manual harness is $150 . I'm planning on swapping a 92 tcm into the Tahoe. If I can't get it to work I'll can get a controller later.

Also keep in mind if it's a 4X4 the aftermarket controllers don't normally have a low 4X4 provision in them to offset the VSS signal for shift points. The solution is to install a tone wheel on the output shaft of the trans like the 91-93 trucks used, but these tone wheels are getting TOUGH to find as they were only used for 3 years early on.
