After 9 months of sitting idle I finally got plates for the truck.

Found some mold on the dash, a rodent living under the back seat and just general dampness.

Stopped off at the DMV, got the plates and then put insurance back on this morning.

Cleaned the rig out well this afternoon and scrubbed things good with antibacterial to clean up after the mouse.

Rig has about 20 miles on the engine now and all seems real fine.

Can't tell how the power is compared to the old engine after 9 months away from it.

Runs great, starts good even at 40F and even after sitting for 2 hours, pops right off without glowing.

Glad to have the beast back.

Hope that this summer will yield time for home improvement work and not wrenching on rigs.

With the DaHoooley back the 91 Burb will be sidelined now. Can't afford to insure 4 rigs.

3 is bad enough, but when you drive old JUNK ):h you need an extra.

Hello MGW,

Well, that's really great! Now I'm inspired to start work on my Beast. I'll spend a few days scouring this site for information, tips, techniques and pictures to save/print, pick up more parts and tools, then just do it.

Enjoy your beast!

Regards,
Franko

Good job, Robyn!

Glad to hear everything is running with "DaHooooley!" Photos! We need more Photos!

NICE, Robyn! Glad the Big-bottomed lady is back on the road again!

You've done good, as always!

Congrats, has to feel good to drive it again. I really enjoyed following your rebuild, thanks for sharing the knowledge you have.

My Durango sits week after week unless a friend needs to borrow it for a day here and there. I think about selling it but a guy I work with tells me that would be the kiss of death, the day its sold my Suburban will end up at the side of the road. Its been so reliable that I trust it but he's right, maybe if the Sub knows the other car is there it will make sure it keeps running!

that is exactly what happened when I sold my Land Cruiser. Also just happened to the guy that I bought my Sidekick from.

SHHHHHH dont tell anyone, but I snuck out on the backroads a week or so ago to warm the beast up a little more than just running it in the yard :D

Was some tough sledding with all the setbacks along the way with the build but so far she seems to be fine.

About 25 miles on the thing now and am planning a bit of a road trip this weekend maybe.

Nothing big but maybe 100 miles.

Sure lovin the 89 Blazer a lot. Wishing it was a diesel but OH well can't have everything ya know.

Finding a clean well cared for Blazer 4x4 is like finding chicken teeth.
Finding one thats is really nice with new tires, a lift kit and a great sound system is a blessing.

The DaHoooley was a great find too, even though the engine went away after only two years.

Clean Dually 4x4 crewcabs are somewhat rare anyway and to find a diesel 4x4 thats nice is even tougher.

Hopefully all is well now around here.

This summer it was DaHoooley
Recently it was the washing machine that died. Got that fixed
Got a Blazer.

Hmmmm Maybe this summer I can get some repairs done on the house.

The weather takes a big toll on the outside of the place around here.

If anyone needs any advice on doing a build, I did do a complete writeup on the DaHoooley build and its here in one of the past threads.

Thanks for all the moral support along the way troops.
