There are 2 Coolant Temp Sensors on the 6.5TD, Correct?.....One in the T Stat housing and one in the block/head? which does what?.......I'm assuming one for the temp gauge and one for the PCM to take readings, correct?

If your CTS goes bad, how do you know which one it is?

The one in the water crossover is the one PCM takes its readings from. If it goes bad , it will cause driveability problems. The one in the head is for the water temp gauge. It will cause erroneous temp readings if bad.

I don't think so, need to scan it to see what is happening, you've been all over mechanical external possibilities ??? lines-shields-pulleys etc.

Injector lines all in their rubber spacers/holders - shields all good - replaced a crank pully 1 month ago

when my cts in the x-over went i threw a code and had issues getting into o/d. aside from that no other mentionables. Ed

No codes - no overdrive issuses.

Try unplugging it Louis, see if there's any difference. Somewhere on here there's a list for the ohm values for different temps.
