Cruising with Dipaco

I have replace the PMD with Dipaco mounted in the front bumper for my 97 suburban. The stalling missing and other issues have all but disappeared. However the cruise control still does not work.

Any tip where to look next?

PS. The Suburban is currently having the top end replaced just shy of 200,000 KM. Burnt #8 exhaust value. Heads were cracked. So New Heads, valves, and injectors
 
You need to clear any history codes stored in your PCM, whether they set off a CEL or not. Head to Autozone.
 
Hmm, I had SES light on, with stored codes 35 and 251 from almost running out of fuel, (diagnosing my twin tank nightmare) and my newly added cruise worked just fine....

If clearing codes doesn't do you any good, I'd start jiggling wires by the brake switch. I had a problem where my high idle mod wouldn't work, and the brake switch was at fault. That directly communicates with the PCM and absolutely would not engage cruise if PCM was reading brake switch on.
 
I don't think all codes will kill the cruise, only certain ones but I am not sure. I do know I had a code 41 and because of that , no cruise.
 
I have been lead to believe the codes have been cleared since the install. I think the next step will be the to see if the problem is at the switch. I don't yet have a computer reader to see if the switch is functional
 
had to replace brake switch on column to get mine to work, it would work intermittently then quit altogether. would clear codes first though
 
X2 on brake switch or column switches going bad. The wires on the column are famous for wearing out. Put the wheel in the highest tilt position and try the resume while jiggling the switch. This may help pin it to the column wires. Lift the brake pedal up with you foot as well to see if the brake switch may kick it in.

A dealer has the special tools to check these out. Depending on year you may have a cruise control box/computer or the PCM may do it all.
 
PCM does it all with OBD2 anyhow.. I added cruise to a non-equipped just by changing the mulitfunction swtich (directional/wiper switch) with one that had cruise.

My High idle was not working and I found it to be the brake switch wiring. Apparently there are 3 switces in there, PCM, Lights, and one more, forget.
