My friends truck has a half assed crossover that someone made due to his 6 inch lift. The pipe is shot and a new one will have to be custom made but all the shops around here can't mandrel bend. What about crush bending a 3 inch to make of for the crushed bends ? I'm trying to get a picture of the existing crossover but the truck is in NY.

Crush bending should be okay with single wall pipe, test with golf ball afterwards, but I'd really look at one from Bill yes it's spendy but that slip fit left pipe into right one is really handy, as it lets you adjust it to the way the mainfolds were cast & fit when installed to THAT engine, if the mandrel bend isn't perfect the misalignment can cause stress fracture in the bend or at the exhaust manifold flanges, which in salt country USA probably not a good thing.

Why not modify a mandrel bent pipe to fit by extending it vertically?
A lift kit lowers the front differential and lower a-arm mounts and moves the front driveshaft down with it.

Warpspeed could make you one that is longer. Call and ask em.

Why not make you own,you can buy mandrel bend elbows in 90 and 45 degrees in most sizes.
just weld straight sections in between with 1 slipjoint in the center for easy fitting.

It's not my truck and it's in NY. The owner does not have a welder or welding skill.

Warpspeed made mine 2" longer and no extra cost. Just tell them the length you need from stock.

Not sure what you mean but Straight axle trucks the pumpkin is on the right and IFS it's on the left. He has IFS.

Yep, that's the question and answer all in one. Thought maybe it was an older GM truck with a retro fitted 6.2/6.5 and the owner was doing some 'wheeling' and beating up his exhaust with the front axle. Been there.

That's cool that Warpspeed will make a longer x-over.

I had a friend years ago making custom headers and he filled the pipes with sand before bending and that help prevent collapsing during the bending process.
