I was working on my dad pickup and found the exhaust manifold was cracked. Just an fyi this is an s10, so mods please leave it here for a while so the smartest guy's on the net (DTR) can give me their input. It is getting a lean code and wont pass smog and I can't find any in my area. I even had a couple of muffler shops looking and nothing. One said he was willing to weld it which will work but I need to get this smog'd next week and the shop can't get to it by then. I was wondering if I could use some hi temp RTF on it. Will that work?

Thanks again guy's.

I have had several S-10's.. 2.2, diesel, 2.8, and the 3.1. They all crack. Drill the ends of the crack with a 1/8 inch drill bit to stop the cracking, then fill it with FS2.. or JB weld, but you will replace the JB every few months.

Ditto the JB burns off; stinks when hot, too. I tried it on the original manifold on the '67; switched to headers. Maybe the FS2 lasts longer, haven't tried it.
