Im hoping to get the box and rails sprayed finally in the next week or two... Ive seen several trucks that have been sprayed over the rails but have gotten oversprayed down into the top of the pockets and looks like crap I think... Have been thinking of trying to make up some sort of cover so it wont get in there.. Or will the liner people maybe have something already to cover this?

Are you just going to go with the regular black line-X?If so why don't you just prep it out first yourself with some flat black in the pockets.I had my wheel wells done and did some prep before they started to avoid seeing the white color of my truck.
I didn't see any pics of your vehicle so I don't know what color it is but flat black would make the pockets blend.Hope that helps.
Fill out your sig and this will help us help you.If you have a Dually get the wheel wells done (for the rear )it looks sharp.

Ya I have to agree with both of the above. Why dont you like the stake pockets done? They dont look right? The only thing I could see is if the linex is installed the pocket will be smaller and might not fit some tie downs. Other than that If I had my line-x over the rails I would have done the same as jim87vette said and spray the pocket with black to avoid seeing color.
:yesnod:

If you dont want the pockets done Id ask the line-x dealer what they would do. You could probably just tape them off with some 2 inch masking tape.

Well I spray bedliners, I have never had this request. It is easy enough to handle. You just need to stuff the hole with masking paper, and call it macaroni!

i have seen what he means, sometimes the sprayer wont spend enough time to spray the hole completely inside. leaving just over spray from doing the top edge of the hole. it does look like crap. just ask if they would concentrate on doing the whole completely to the best they can with the gun and all. it wont look bad.

Yea, I guess i shouldve explained it better...Almost all otr spray-ins ive seen, unevenly taper off after about 1.5" down in the pocket and it just looks cheap. I really only want the the lip of the pocket to get sprayed and that's it. Bt it doesnt seem like thatll be the easiest to tape off..

Get some foam rubber and stuff it in there. When you are done, take a box knife and cut around the sides and remove the foam.

It is hard to spray down in the hole. The guns will also build around the hole, and that will look like crap too. If you are having a high pressure sprayer(line-x) I would think it would be even harder to get it in the hole. This stuff doesn't quite spary like paint, its way thicker.

I have my line-x over the rails and it goes down in the stake pockets as far as the eye can see. Never really thought about how they got it all the way down in there.

just get some foam from a packing store and cut it to fit the bigger opening under the stake hole. it will stop the stuff from doing more than the lip and it will pop right out. you be able to cut it bigger and squish it in and it will take shape.
