So the other day I thought I had a bad rod bearing (clacking noise) in my truck but it still has 40 lbs of oil preasure. I drove it down to my shop to check it out and on the way there it was pouring smoke out of the CDR and blew the dipstick out. I never got a chance to dig into it yet cause I had to fix my car so I have something to drive.

I was thinking.... Could a blown headgasket or cracked head cause this much blowby into the crankcase. (I was peaking around 18psi when screwing around) Cause I drove the thing a little over 25 miles like this and I would think if it was a bad ring or piston it would have caused alot more damage by now. I mean the thing still runs and drives decent minus the smoke pouring out of it through the cdr and dip stick hole.

18 PSI in my opinion is too high. With that kind of blow-by I would think you have piston damage of some sort.

I dont run it constant up there but when trying to keep in sight of my friends Dmax and 6.0powerjoke when we take off I can pull 18psi to the boards.

Yup thats gonna be an after the holidays project, I was just hopeing someone had similar issues before.

If you want to keep up with a Dmax, drop in a Dmax! They run over 30 PSI of boost. They also have 10/20 years newer and more complicated technology to get 75% more HP stock than the 6.5.

I dont even dare try to keep up I just try to stay within sight... Plus if I drop annything in besides a 6.2/6.5 it will be a 6bt.
