Cooling system question: rubber sleeves on t-stats.

Subject system is with the dual thermostats, specifically the rubber sleeves around the stats I have one 6.5 td where the sleeves have seemed to disappear into the cooling system since this disappearing act I no longer use these rubber sleeves.

This is a concern because of potential coolant flow restriction from blockage caused by the rubber sleeve and I would like ideas as to where exactly to look for these rubber sleeves in a cylinder head, blocking a cooling galley the radiator, or not to worry?

Most likely they went into the radiator itself as the flow would push them that way most likely. ALL of the OEM stats use the rubber sleeves, and they really help to block coolant flow until the stats open to promote faster engine warmup.

Thanks for the replies however after review of the dual stat housing I see no real way the rubber sleeves could get to the radiator as the stats block the pathway when closed or to much when open so I'm thinking bypass into pump and on to blocking some of the coolant galleys does anyone agree, or?

When the rubber comes off, it comes off in small chunks and pieces. If you change em out every 8 years or so it isn't a problem.
