I need the piin out that goes from the coolant temp sender (the one right by the T-stat) to the ECM.

I am still having hot start issues after a new lift pump, injector pump, injectors, coolant temp sender, oil pressure switch, glow plugs, and manual glow over ride. There are no other things that I can think of other than the motor is just tired (lack of compression). I tried hot starting it w/the temp sender off and she'll fire right up.

SOOO having said all that I can either.

1. Pop the hood and unhook the switch everytime I have to hot start it...super ghetto

2. Run a long ass wire all the way from my dash to the switch...slightly ghetto

3. Run the wire from my dash to the glove box...

It'd be nice if someone here can tell me which wire to tap.

Thanks,
Matt

Doesn't really make sense that unplugging it helps HOT starts? Wouldn't that advance your timing alot?

Perhaps your truck is outta time? Worn chain?

With a User ID of "Kick ass Matt" seems to me you would not mind ghetto :D, truck can't be too kick ass if you gotta fudge the CTS which is a protection feature for the truck.

We aren't big on ghetto around here, we prefer to fix them so a switch in the glove box is ghetto, unless you are one of those kind of guys that cruise with windows up dripping sweat because it's not "kick assl" to admit a/c is broken

care to fill in the blanks of info so we can get your truck will live up to the user log on you chose.

Well that name stuck w/me from my co-workers back in the day when I have SPAM for lunch all the time...

Well in any event...Now that I keep thinking about it...is there a way of timing an IP w/out the proper tool/scanner?

Thanks,
Matt

You can get it in ballpark, but really requires that you be able to see where the timing is at, several laptop tools out there to convert your laptop or PC with LONG cable to a scanner, in addition to traditional scan tools.

MT2500 (Snap-On "Bricks") are coming down in price on ebay as guys update to the newer tools.
