I had a friend of a friend call me last nite about the coolant sensor on 6.2. But I was no help because what he was dealing with was different than my 6.5. Here is what is going on.

He said on the passenger side head towards the rear is a coolant sensor. He assumes it is the cold idle advance. I asked him why does he think that? "Cause when we put the two wires together the idle goes up" i told on the 6.5 that sensor is on the crossover in the front of the engine. He says "yep its got that one too".?????????????????? He also said the one for the gauge is on the drivers side just like the 6.5.
Is this thing right or has someone really messed up here? He said he needs the new sensor cause it is broke off and the plug wont stay on it.

the sensor in the DS head is the one for the gauge. the one in the PS head controls the high idle and cold advance. did he break the sensor itself or the plug itself?

Thanks, He broke the sensor where the harness plugs into it. He said advance cant find the right sensor. Any ideas for that one.

advance has it listed as a glow plug sensor according to their site. I gotta ask though are both sensors hooked up? or is one just a 'plug'?

I dont know for sure. This is all being done over the phone. As far as I know they both are hooked up. Thanks again.

if they're both hooked up, just bypass the broken one and simplify things.

Or you could just convince them to become a member:thumbsup:
