ive been having some electrical issues and i think my computer is probaly about to be fried. right now its probally just a short in the wiring harness the windshield wipers come on when i hit a bump. im thinking about replacing my electrical system with a mechenical injector pump has any one done this or know any tricks?

It is probably just ground issues. It is a normal occurence in this truck.
There is a ground loose somewhere or not making contact.
Clean all your grounds inside out, you should be fine. Hopefully, in the process, you will find the loose one.

By the way, the wiper is not controllled by the computer aka ECM of the vehicle. It is not an indication whether the ECM is fried or not.

You can change all the electrical system, but you may introduce other issues which is probably ground again. Besides the fact that the availability of new electrical harness is probably questionable without spending an arm and a leg.

For mech IP, you can search and come up with a lot of threads about it.

I think the '94's are similar to OBII stuff in regards to the wiper control board. Probably, you just need to take it out and re-solder the connections.

Yeah, hit the wiper motor area with your fist some and it will probably do the same thing. When my wipers wont come on I just smack it. There nothing wrong with my contacts, except there is some gear lube all over the wheel in there that prevents electrical contact, so I have to clean it out.

There was a recall on the wiper board, the contacts on the board where power and relay connections mount on the board have a cold solder joint, if the relay itself isn't bad you can clean & resolder the joint, neither of my 98s were covered by the recall, GM claimed the problem was "fixed" by then it wasn't :mad5:, one had a actual bad relay, one I fixed, IIRC the board itself wasn't terribly expensive about $40 (4) years ago.

thanks for the help thats probally the deal on the wipers, but really there just the start of my electrical problems but its probally a ground. i apreciate everyones help

Youd have to explain the problems before anyone could recommend specific action. Is there some dash lights issue? SES, WTS, etc??? Or is this driveabilty issues like stalling or stumbling?

when i hit a bump the radio flashes of then the wipers come on, other than that most of the time it starts just fine but occasionaly its hard to start

Well in that case I'd be checking out your steering column wiring, check out all the wires at the base of it, see if anything is loose. Pull off the trim pieces, its easy enough to get a good look.
