Getting ready to do a compression test but i have read numberous articles on how to do it. Some articles say use the ports where the injectors thread into and other says use the glow plug ports. Which way is proper?

If you have the adapter for the glow plug holes it's easier, no injector lines to remove.

Most compression tester kits dont come with the one that fits our Injector threading, so the GP hole is easier to adapt to. Its just 1/8" MPT I believe, so you can get a 6" threaded piece of pipe and put the compression tester fitting on the other end of the pipe to do the test. Its covered in a thread somewhere on here

Its hard to do no 6 & 8 trough the GP hole.
If you gut an old injector and weld an adaptor to it you can do these 2 or all for that matter from above

Is it 10X1.25 mm? I can't remember. I made my own adapter to my 'gasser' comp tester. Then I quickly realized I needed a gauge that read higher that 200psi. Learning curves.
