My parents bought my son a 1996 GMC K-1500 with 6.5 turbo my brother test drove Iwas at work doing a 24 hour shift and a high press salesman and Im having problems it wont hold a cruse speed Ive been told PMD its been changed and moved My true feeling is that there is a problem with this alternitive fuel system that has been installed its so mickey moused that it has switches and a fuel guage on a sheet of metal laying on the floor and a truck load of hoses running arround under the hood :eek:so what I realy need is a fuel system diagram

Almost all the fuel lines are hidden on these trucks. There is only two fuel lines from the tank to the fuel filter manager. They rundown the drivers side frame rail. With the lift pump being directly under the drivers seat area inside the frame rail.

The fuel filter manager has three lines on it. One fuel in, one fuel out, and one drain. If the fuel filter manager is still in its factory spot.

I would start with fuel pressure. the 6.5TD will run with out a lift pump. But it slowly destroys the injector pump.

Can you take and upload some pictures so we can see the mess you are talking about.
