so i unhook relay, change fuse and now i have no glow plug wait to start. gpr fires on both posts 1 for only8 sec or so. power making it past in line fuses right after gpr. truck runs fine but has code 29 gpr error. any thoughts on my next move? thx. oh ya, 95 silverado 1500 4x4 turbo 6.5.

ornge to pin#30 TAN TO #87 AND GRAY #86 GROUND TO #85 ON A 40 AMP RELAY. Could it be my new ops is causing glow plug relay error? relay is unhooked for now, im afraid to try it again and cook my ecm. also with a factory fuel pump relay in fuse panle under hood im not sure i need the mod ?

found my problem, i think. purple or tan wire is not to be used. it runs oil gauge. the gray wire is cut not spliced with ops side going to86 and the lp side of gray going to 87. but im still with gpr error.

IIRC it's supposed to go to the signal wire to the GP relay and would need a diode to keep from backfeeding the ECM

The good relays have the built in Diodes. There is a good thread here on that. Or you can just ask when you are purchasing the relays. I got mine cheap at the dealership.

I bought a dozen with the diode built in. IIRC it was $4 vs $20-25 from dealer or parts store and not easy to find
