wondering if anyone knows if a faulty CDR will cause the white smoke and sluddish idle that i am experiencing. after i hit about 90-100kms the smoke goes away and seems to run fine but any speed less that that and the problems start again

No. Look elsewhere. The CDR does not provide enough air to ruin the idle. If it does your engine is tost with extreme blowby - nothing the CDR will do about that.

What year are we working on?

its a 97 and i have a another post as pls help me. i swapped the cdr with my 93 to test and ur right it doesnt change anything. i am on my way down to get a compression test done so wish me luck!!!
