I thought diesels didn't vapor lock. Air lock yes, vapor lock???
What vacuum does diesel boil at?

So after pulling a 140 GPH 18 PSI lift pump on I was still getting loss of power, 'air' in the return lines etc. I would start out running fine with good flow and 18 PSI on the gauge. A run at 65 would drop the pressure to full vac and put air in the IP return line. Swapped filters has trouble re-priming the lift pump etc. No matter what I did. A fuel pressure gauge is useful but lacks vac readings. The handheld vac/pressure engine analyzer will tell you more than just 0 PSI, but extreme problems like a full vacuum in the fuel system.

Finally after checking the line from the fuel tank I moved the wiring harness on the engine to find a curve in a hose had turned into this:

Perma-kink! Would not come out.

Bio-compatible Gates hose isn't as compatible as you would think.
