Thanks to wrecker I had some work to do tonight.....Changed the oil in my front and rear diff to amsoil ....changed engine oil and filter to amsoil....changed the fuel filter....and installed my egt probe for my edge evolution race. I would say it was about time to change the diffs.....take a look at how nasty the drain plug and oil was out of the front diff....

I DO NOT like the looks of the front differential plug. That's pretty scary looking. How many miles and is that it's 1st change? If it is then I'm not as worried about it because all 3 of my 2500HD 4x4s had some metal on the front plug at 1st change. Not nearly that much though...
I DO like your lift.
Did you go with the Amsoil EAO oil filter? I'm thinking about that one myself.

Mike, mine had ~16k miles on it when I changed it, I think.

I, too, really really like that lift. That would make maintenance so much easier. I had to figure out some contortionist :icon_bs: to get 3 qts of oil in my transfer case.

sadly I must admit that it is the 1st change on the front diff..rear diff got changed at 10k.....never did the front diff till now....at 80k...and i did both the front and rear....can't imagine doing it without the lift. I'm really glad our shop bought them this year....and yes I went with the EAO filter

That green color is nothing to worry about in the front diff fluid. That is caused by the dry film lubricant that GM put in them to prevent the gears from rusting during long periods of them not getting used(the front gears only sling oil around in 4X4). The metal isn't too bad on it, but still a touch more than I like to see.

I did mine at 2500 miles when I did my first oil change. I would say that I'm due.

I did my differentials at 50 k (2nd time). Now at near 110k and just got 6 qts severe gear from Ashton so it's gonna happen soon.

I'm good until 180K when I have to do the engine oil and filter, fuel filter, and the trans spin on. I went with synthetics in everything except the engine, but am considering trying synthetics in the engine for winter time. I had to run group 75's for batteries and when it was 50 outside she spun over a little slow, would hate to see what a 0 day would do to her.

Uh oh. We're at 66k on all stock fluids but engine oil, and what's been added to the tranny during filter changes.......

My buddy was just giving me a hard time because he knows I like to go through everything when I first buy a vehicle. Its taking me a little longer with this truck simply because I'm so busy and because I'm getting a little wiser in trucks, I want to make it perform well, and not just get by.
