I am planning to go back to getting grease by the 5 gal bucket. It has been years since I filled grease guns.
Does anybody else use a grease pump and refill grease guns?
What kind of grease does anybody recomend?
How expensive is Amsoil grease, comparatively speaking? All grease seems to be expensive.
I have used Super Blue and the red stuff mostly for every application.

I just buy a case of the cartridges rated NGLI 2 from Farm & Fleet. Filling from the bucket was frustrating way back when. I liked when they started doing cartridges back in the early 60s.

I was going back to the bucket for just the opposite reason. I get tired of priming the grease guns when if you pump them full from the bucket that isn't an issue. LOL

I really haven't had a priming issue for a long time since about all I ever use anymore is the Lincoln cordless gun as well as a 40+ yo Sears gun. I only had a problem with a cheap one from K-Mart and one of those useless pneumatic POSs. Both of those found a home at the landfill.

I have several hand pumpers and one cheap hand air from harbor frieght. I went through about 5 lincoln air guns and gave up on them.
I had one air grease gun from harbor frieght previously that lasted me 15 to 20 years.
I guess one of these days I'll have to break down and buy a cordless. Are they set up to refill from a bucket?
It would be nice if Milwaukee or Dewalt made a cordless so I could use my batteries.

You can do either fill with the Lincoln cordless. Here's an interesting stat. I bought that gun about 10-12 years ago when I was still actively custom baling. I'm sure you know how many fittings are on sm square baling equipment. I've probably gone through 4-5 cases of F&F grease with it and have charged the battery 3 times. I must have gotten lucky but that thing lasts forever! Now that I just use it on the trucks and tractors, it will go at least a year on a charge. Of course I just jinxed myself...

A friend of mine and I used to bail when we were kids. My Dad custom bailed and sold the bailer to our neighbor. After a few years My friend and I started using the bailer for more than our own stuff. Kept pretty busy.

That's pretty impressive. There is a lot to be said for not having to drag around an air hose.
I just checked Milwaukee is coming out with a 12 volt grease gun. $130 without the battery $200 with.
To bad it isn't 14 or 18 volt to match the tools I already have.
