I got a like new passenger seat and am planning on swapping bottoms to my drivers side to give it a freshen up and replace the worn outer edge. Anyone ever disassemble one? everything is pretty straight forward except for the plastic bushing for the seat back pivot. trying to figure out how to get it apart without breaking the plastic bushing.

Got it! The trick was to pry from the opposition side while carefully wedging open the 4 corners of the bushing.

Old and new cushions. The actual seat cover is attached to the foam, at least the seams on the seat surface.uploadfromtaptalk1407535745543.jpguploadfromtaptalk1407535767420.jpguploadfromtaptalk1407535786972.jpg

Truck seats take a beating. For a '96 seat it's not that bad really.

Maybe a few more detail pics and this would be a good sticky thread for the tech library.

So I had to trim some foamuploadfromtaptalk1407542208222.jpg

Then I had to use some self drilling screws to attach the coveruploadfromtaptalk1407542303612.jpg

All in all not too bad a job for $50uploadfromtaptalk1407542504853.jpg

Nice!

What was the donor? Or will any GMTX00 style work with a little trim?

Or did you just replace the fabric and not the foam?
