Picked up this injector testor off of yep you guessed it Simon CL. I reread BK95tds thread on rebuilding them and sent an email to the guy he bought shims from but haven't heard from him (been 1 week). anyone got any suggestions as to where to get good prices on shims other than him, also nozzles. Also anyone got Barry's email if so could you pm me with it. I used to have it until my comp died.

Nah shims are easy with the right tool.

Put 'em under the thick shim. Let the spring ride on the thick shim to protect the thin jobbies.

The benfit of being a machinist, one has some cool tools.

Trouble is, to buy a punch set just for injector shims would be kinda crazy, they are $100 on UP...

Can you not make AK some shims?

Another note on shims, when you do new nozzles in the process, the individual shim packs in the injectors are no longer 'right' so you end up mixing and matching shims from other injectors to get your pops set. The thickest shim in there is usually even a different thickness too. Some injectors have just one thick shim, some have a thick and a thin, some have a thick and two or three thins, etc.

The last set I did, I only used 4 or 5 .003" shims that I punched.

Ooo, look at the fancy new tool.

Are you going to start rebuilding injectors for members here or is it for personal use only?

Have you already got some injectors to test or are you needing some?

I just replaced my injectors last weekend. The old ones are Bosch Germanys that are going to be sitting around my shop until I can figure out what I want to do with them. I could throw em in a flat rate box and ship them to you if you needed some.

By the way, are you still wanting the aluminum shelves out of my P30?

I would hold off till I get a little better set up on the injectors. I assumed since I hadn't heard back on the shelves you scrapped them. Any idea how much they way?

I couldn't imagine more than 200 pounds, but I still haven't pulled them out yet. I got lazy on that truck after the engine and transmission got pulled out.

the guy that did mine,, at the Diesel shop,, told me to flip over the springs, when you redo them,, as only 1 end of the springs gets tired,,,,:dunno: :confused5:

The tire shop in town said my tire wasn't flat either, just jack it up and turn it 180 'cause it's only flat on one side...

:hihi: :pokey:
