Just because everyone likes pics, here's the new rig first day home in the driveway:

2011 Flagstaff. Picked it up this morning and it's only been in the driveway 1.5 hours. It's a 2011 26RLSS (rear living room, super slide). They call it a 26 footer, but it's a few inches shy of 30 feet bumper to hitch. It's one of their "superlight trailers" (what they call it), weighing in at 5228 Lbs dry. It's power everything right down to the stabilizers and hitch jack.

Here's the floor plan:

My Tekonsha Voyager controller wasn't working when we plugged it in, so it came home without trailer brakes. Illegal, but it only had to go about 8 miles. I also didn't have the sway bar/load levelers on yet. The truck dropped about 2 inches with the load (it's got the factory "slide in" camper package) so it's nice and close already. Setting the bars up properly should have it all nice and even with only a slight load on the bars. Perfect for sway control to work.
The truck didn't really notice the weight was back there that much, at least not as much as I thought it would have. About another 100 degrees on the pyro when accelerating and didn't hardly buck or pull at all on pavement irregularities. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the old girl. We were mostly 65 KPH and below though.

Now that the wife has her un-godly expensive toy that MY truck has to tow, it's time to hit her up for that $1000 bill for my tuning software......;)

Nice! Welcome to being an RV'er...we love it and go as often as we can.

You'll like being able to close off that toilet. It's pretty hard to squeeze one of with someone on the other side of a curtain.

Looks great, BJ! Get those brakes working; they're for stability as well as stopping. If you have to panic-stop at even 30 mph without 'em, you'll suck up the seat covers on your side waiting for things to stop...

The tuning will be a priority; although that trailer is light, when you load it up (expect another 1000 lbs - food, water and beer are heavy) and find a protracted hill, you'll heat up a lot if you don't have the power to carry it off, and stock programming is parasitic.

congrats. Brought my new home home today as well.

Congrats, Kenny ... New thread, pics, floor plan, all that stuff ... ??

No problem, trailer isn't going anywhere until my Tekonsha P3 shows up.

Wifey has given me the go ahead on tuning software purchase. It's just a matter of who and how much now.

Yup, she's a keeper......:)

Woke up yesterday and went over to the window for the usual morning stretch and sure enough, I forgot to close the roof vent the night before.

Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but it rained like a SOB that night.

Crap.

Brand new trailer, probably soaked inside!

Stupid, stupid, stoopid!

Well, turns out the rain was blowing in just the right direction that very little came in and there wasn't even a mark if it had been wet inside.

First thing I did this morning was install a MaxxAir II vent cover:

(it's the "dog house" on the back roof vent)

http://www.maxxair.com/maxxair2.html

Now I can leave it open in any weather I want.

Well worth the 50 bucks I spent on it, and no holes need to be drilled in the roof so the 7 year warranty is still intact!

I've got another one waiting to go on to the bedroom fan at the front.

With that, my first modification to the new trailer is done.

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'm thinking about a seriuosly upgraded AV system. 6000 watts should do it!

Install a second deep cycle 12v to go with the factory one.

Then, pull the factory Toshiba out and mount it in the bedroom, swap in the biggest flatscreen that will fit in the Ent center, samsung bluray with wifi media streaming, wirelss access point, sat dish, air card, etc, etc......

Wifey is even talking about adding another skylight (600 bucks, dealer installed, no warranty issues).

Oy Vey!

What have I done?

;)

60 w Solar panel and charge regulator. WITH the second deep-cycle battery. You can never have too much juice, especially when you have visions of upgrading your stereo system!

If you're really feeling flush, skip the second 12v battery and install a 12 v CAT battery. Damn things last forever.
