Damn, don't tell us you ran out of PMD kits!!!

But if you have run out: next best thing I could put the parts together for a DB2 conversion for you from my totaled truck.

Its got 117K miles. I bought it without even test driving it. We fired up the motor and it sounded solid, so the rest I knew could be fixed.
I worked on it today and got it running real good. It was a wierd one. It would randomly stall, so first thought was PMD. Also forgot to say the PO butchered the wire harness. Used crimp on butt splices to extend the PMD, but he mounted it directly to the fender by DS hood hinge (no heat sink). He also cut off the big engine connector and wired it all directly (the one at rear of engine valley by FM) I think he just twisted the wires together and electrical taped it. Not even soldiered!! The guy was not smart (good for me i guess) The truck side of the harness for the LP was cut off and replaced with his masterfull twisting technique, this time not even electrical tape:eek: Its got a brand new LP and fuel filter curtousy of PO.
Anyway removed the hose going to IP & put it in a jar. Jumped LP fuse and very little fuel came out (think Im on to something). Then remove LP and blow out the lines from FM to LP into clean bucket and nothing its clean. Then I blow from LP to tank. Really could'int hear anything like I thought I might if it was pluged. Then put everything back together and with the hose still in the jar jumpered the LP fuse again and this time LOTS OF FUEL!. Put everything back together and test drive. It runs great now, no stalling or dieing.):h Driving 70 mph it still has 5 psi at idle 7psi.
Ive never driven a 1/2 ton diesel before, it is a srange feeling. Its real responsive compared to my CCLB 1 ton with 342's I think the 1/2 ton has 373's in it.
Next Im going through all the lube/fluids. Also, injectors and GP's
As you guys know it is a great feeling to be able to work on and fix our old trucks.
Warwagon, I swaped my 1 ton to a DB2 w/4l80e and love it, but think for now I will keep this one DS4.

Sounds like the stocking was plugged. Time to treat the fuel?
So fixing the EGR next?

Don't hate me, hate the game!

Yea actually I will drop the tank and take a look next weekend after I burn some of it out.
Not planing egr delete for now.

My brother bought a 94 Sub 4x4 for $500. it has a $800 worth of tires on it! It does have a bad head gasket so he sold the motor and is putting the 6.5 from his daily driver in it and then putting a Cummins 4bt in the DD

117k for a g is worth is even if the body's falling off the frame. could sell the motor for more than that.

That was my thinking too.

The more I drive it the more I like it. Need to fix A/C as the comp is growling.
The body is ok, but does have a rust hole under rear window. Interior is solid, but very dirty.

Awe how cute, he's in love. Admit it leroy, you love bringing them back and saving them. Me too!

Nice find. The dude probably went nuts on the side of the road somewhere trying to fix the stalling... I've been there...
