Ok quick read thru the diagnostics, white smoke during crank & cold weather generally indicates a glow issue, lets work that before going to the no boost issue. What have you done to trouble shoot glows ?

Actually I haven't done any tests. Just looking at the glowplugs without removing them, it appears they have been in the engine for a long time and I was planning on replacing them. Any suggestions as to what brand? The weather here only gets down in the twenties or lower about 2 months out of the year.

Thanks Chief.. I am in the small town of Hazard, about 110 miles southeast of Lexington, Ky.

Even the 6.5 with it's high compression needs glows for reliable starting, and for a Diesel with some age on it even more so <60 F is cold and will hamper starting, so healthy glows are a must IMO. As are healthy batteries, cables & starter.
