morning folks haven't posted in a while, but I know u guys will have an answer ...I pulled into my driveway the other day, trucks runningg great as always..went to leave wouldn't turn over. has new batts but still had nothing.i noticed that the volt meter didn't go up or headlights didn't dim when I turned the key.i checked the large fuses for the ignition and sure enuf one was blown. now the problem is that the fuse keeps blowing right before the glow plugs click. I have new glow plugs that il install Friday, could it be a grounded glow plug. wire..i haven't had time to check anything due to time issues. thx for any and all suggestions.....

Which fuse is popping? What exactly is your truck? The glow plugs are on a fusible link, not a fuse, so I doubt you have a glow plug problem.

thx for the reply..my truck is a 95 gmc sierra ...I replaced the blown motor with a teds 506 about 4 yrs ago...the fuse that blows is the 40amp ign.A fuse and ur correct its not the glow plugs...upon further review the fuse doesn't pop til I hit the starter...im gonna go get some fuses and trace the wires from the starter

Looking at the diagrams, that fuse is for the ignition switch, and fused ignition outputs from the switch including the starter circuit, so I would say thats a good place to start looking.

I had the same damn thing happen a few years back on my 98 Burb. The culprit was a loose ignition wire on the starter solenoid. Removed the connector, cleaned/burnished everything put it back on and torqued the nut down properly onto the ring terminal and have had no problems since.
