I am sure someone more knowledgeable than me should pipe in soon, but have you checked your vacuum pump? Where are you in IL?

No I have not. What kind of things do I check it for? I live in Pawnee 10 miles south of Springfield.

Take off the belt and turn it with your hand. That is how i found out mine was toast. It was real easy to turn.

If you are using the factory vaccum system, which i assume you are, with the truck running try and move the wastegate rod on the turbo. It should be quite hard to compress. If it moves easily, you have a loss of vaccum which could be attributed to a leak, bad solenoid, or a bad vac pump. Start by checking all your vaccum hoses for cracks or splits and go from there...

If you have a vacuum guage, you should be getting around 15"hg at the wastegate, or about 25"hg at the pump. But by the sounds of it you have enough vacuum to have a correctly operating wastegate.

I see that you have relocated your PMD. Where did you move it to? Did you move your old one or buy new? who's did you buy? Make your own harness or buy one? If yours is reloacated on-top of your intake, it should be moved to another location, preferably outside the engine bay.

Mine did the same thing and it was the egr valve...you can test it by unplugging the vac hose from the egr and pluggin the vac hose with a golf tee and electrical tape or even better, a screw.

take it for a spin and see if that does it.

its the pancake looking canister on top of the intake underneath the cover. it has a rigid vacuum hose attached to it. remove the vac hose and plug the hose.

Well things have gone from bad to terrible ! It won,t hardly run now. Shakes & shudders & belches black smoke.

bought a used PMD & moved it to the front bumper area. I made the cable.

When did you install the PMD/FSD and the homemade extension cable?
Did you move the ground wire from the top of the IP when you replaced the PMD?
You reported it got much worse..............Any news?
