What the Biggest / Best Tire for On-Road & Loose Thick Sand that will Fit an '08 Silverado 1500 with a Leveling Kit?

The Truck has Factory 18's in 265-65-18, they just want to Keep the OEM Wheels and Change the Tires.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Well I know the OBS trucks could fit 285/75R16's in there without any additional lift. But they would rub slightly at full lock and a slight articulation. Those NBS style trucks have some pretty big wheel wells as compared to old, so with a leveling kit I would say 285's or one size larger depending on what the owner wants.

In regards to the loose sand and on highway, you could get a good set of A/T grade tires. I have the Yokohama Geolander A/T's and let me tell you, those things have an aggressive tread for an A/T tire. They don't slip... AT ALL Even when you want them too :mad2:

Jamie, he's asking about a half ton.

I have seen half tons with 285's on them and if someone told me that they dont rub, I would never believe them. They look friggen huge on a 1500.

Its actually a thread that seems to come up every now and then. Someone asks how big of a tire they can fit on there stock suspension truck (I'm talking OBS like mine). Someone says a 265, and another will argue that a 285 will fit without trimming. I've actually seen a handful of 1500's and 2500's with 285's stuffed in the wheel wells. It looks awful(like you said they look huge, they are way out of proportion), but people have done it. Again these are on OBS trucks with no lift. This guy apparently has a leveling kit on his truck as well as the NBS body style, and the wheel wells on the NBS trucks are defiantly bigger than my trucks.

I fit 285/55R18 on my 98 Tahoe and only had to trim a little on the front. Oh, and add fender flares after the nice state trooper informed me that I needed them, lol.
