so i got the entire intake manifold off the engine as i am trying to get the old pmd off. i can get the top two bolts but the bottom bolts are not asscessible due to the way the engine valley is formed.i shortened an allen wrench and still could not reach. any othere ways to get it off. i really want a spare even though i know its already been some what damaged by heat. but it never gave me a hiccup for the past year ive owned it.

Take a chisel in between the IP and PMD and carefully brake the bottom 2 torex bolts. Ive done it that way:thumbsup:

Dosnt look like it, there isnt any vulnerable parts there, Be careful with the back of the PMD, there 2 resisters there. As long as you keep it striaght you should be fine

Why waste the time.

leave it there and replace it with a fresh DTECH unit on a cooler.

As MGW suggested, remote mounting a fresh unit on a cooler is the best way to go.

But, if you HAFTA remove the old unit without removing the IP, use a gum scraper and a forceful attitude with a hammer to shear the two bottom bolts.

Franko

already did just want a backup in case something happens to the new d tech
Use the one on the pump as your back up. Real simple. Disco the ext cable and plug the short end back into the pmd on the pump. It will get you where you want to go unless it is bad too.

I would like to know if the shearing off the bolts worked for you. I need to get mine off so I can get the resistor out of it. I have tried fishing that thing out witha mirror and a paper clip without any luck.
