Curious as to the best bang for your buck in regards to scan programs for my 6.5? Ill be swapping my DS4 IP to a new engine soon and I'll need to be able to time it. So I need something easy to use, accurate and useful.
I have a good laptop and obd1 connector for it.(whole set up from OBD diagnostics)
I figure GMTDScan Tech? I saw that Leroy sold software for a while but I'm not finding it on his website at the moment.
Any help is appreciated. Also any good threads to the procedure and specs for my upcoming project? Thank you for your time

GMTDscan tech works very well. you can even build your own cable with a $12 device off amazon for it I bought the software straight off Engh Motors website before I knew Leroy sold it.

I would link the thread from DP on how to build the cable, but I'm not sure if cross linking is allowed. I've been here long enough I should have asked one of the admins about that by now lol

For 94/95 OBD1 6.5's with a DS4 pump your options are limited to either an old TECH1/TECH1A with the appropriate chip, a TECH2 with the updated card, or GMTDScan Tech which is a clone program of a TECH1 scanner for a PC, THAT'S IT! There are NO other options unless you feel like writing custom code to make tunerpro work. None of the OTC or other aftermarket scan tools support the 2 year only obd1 6.5l if you need to time the pump. They will show you data displays, but that is it, there is no ability to command timeset or a tdc offset relearn. So your options are pretty limited. Out of the 3, GMTDScan Tech is by far the cheapest of them.
