Best glue for plastic to stainless steel?

I have a stainless DURAMAX plate and a couple or letters have fallen off because it's gotten bent a few times. Anyone know what will work BEST? I used super glue once and they didn't last long. Would hot glue work better?

Good idea...usually won't let go unless you really pull on it.

We use 3M double back tape when we have some trim parts we put on the Rescue trucks we build. They say it stays on at high speed and we have not have to replace much that I know of.
