My Uncle is looking to Buy a New Truck or SUV to tow his Boat with. It's a 6000lb Boat, plus the Trailer which prob. weighs another 700-900 Pounds.

He lives down in Florida and says it's very hard to find a 4wd Truck. Which I can understand because there isn't really any need for one in FL for the Average Person.

It must be 4wd and be able to Tow AND Stop what he has. I already told him to just get a Diesel, but he said that's way Overkill for him.

So what do you Guys think?

My cousin has a malibu and my Tahoe towed it perfectly. I am guessing it weights close to the same as what you are requesting.

An avalanche is closer to a Suburban(it sits on a Suburban frame) than a Tahoe. I really like the Avalanche, they drive nice and have built in coolers in the side of the bed with drains!

When he gets the trailer I request a duel axle trailer with surge brakes. It makes it tow a lot nicer than a single axle. I just like having the added security with the brakes.

Yea, I loved my old Av. Rode REALLY nice. Didn't have any problems Towing what I used to with it.

An Avalanche would work fine. Mt buddy pulls a 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer all winter with his. No problems at all.
