Introducing myself and like the title says, I’ve been reading threads here for a while. My project originated as a 1994 k3500 standard cab but that wasn’t even the start. You all may be calling me crazy by the end of my post, but that’s ok. The very start of my project was dragging home a 1960 Dodge D100 that I tried to pick up over 16 years. Cool truck but I wanted it to be a work truck when I got done with it. Needed motor trans and pretty much all the chassis. My son suggested finding an OBS one ton and I lucked out that it was a 4x4. The truck had a 599 block but a rod bearing had spun. My build is supposed to be a “budget” build but I can tell that’s probably not going to turn out. I plan on using the complete chassis from the 94 and put together a 6.5 for ease. What made me finally join is that I found a NA Optimizer motor from a 2008 military HUMVEE. I will have questions and look forward to all of the collective wisdom I recognize here.

Welcome @Rarcustoms glad to have you here with us! Honestly I think that would be a very awesome build. start you a build thread with all the details and history (your story too) with lots of photos. we all enjoy builds and are willing to help you with advice, ideas, and even help spend your money too LOL.

feel free to join in on other threads where we talk about anything and everything under the sun too. check out some of the other build threads while your at it.

one bit of advice... when you post photos, there should be a box to check for full image, lots of us cant see that well and need things blown up HAHA.

Thank you. This build was a long time coming. In 2011 I fractured my neck and destroyed two discs and added a head injury too. Some say that’s why I do things like this project. It took11 years to recover to the point that I could feel my hands again. I can get around just fine these days too. This after 32 years in the collision repair industry, so I have the knowledge in chassis and body reconstruction as well as a fair understanding of mechanics. I have collected almost enough to get started fitting and doing final planning. The one thing I lack is in depth knowledge on the 6.5 Optimizer I picked up. Questions will be coming.
