anyone ever see the 3 center main bearings spin on a higher mileage 6.5 without doing any damage to any other bearings?

Seen this in a BBC. Crank had too much runout- or at least 'developed' the runout somewheres along the line..

My original 93 6.5 died at 212k miles with #1&2 rod bearings spun.

Mains were full of shrapnel, didn't spin any, just roughed up the bearings.

How much wear on the actual bearings themselves?

Were these the origanal bearings or had they been replaced? I have seen this happen with sealed power bearings before within 500 miles of being freshened up.

not sure but I do know the engine has been opened up before because the pickup on the oil pump was tack welded. Didn't look at the brand of bearing.

Check the brand. I've used sealed power twice now as most parts stores have gone to them, and both engines lost the main bearings in the first 500 miles(one a 4.0L JEEP and the other a 305 chevy). Talked to a local machine shop and he said this is very common with them.

pulled one of the other main bearings off and it was a GM bearing. Also I was wrong earlier I'd said it was opened up before but the oil pump turned out to be off the other engine that was in the shop
