I Got the relocation done today, its pretty simple and will work with my Battery Cable Kit, First thing to do is take the PS - and+ cables off the Battery take the + of the drivers side to keep from shorting out. No take out the PS battery, Air Box and Battery tray, There is a ground attached to the fender take that off also, now remove the Heavy felt insulation, put the box in place setting on the inner fender, and with a sharpie mark the holes that need to be drilled using the box as a template

I also took out the air intake tube as I am putting the old airbox where the battery was

If you remove the RF signal light you can see the air intake there is one 9/32 screw in the upper r of the pic that has to come out to remove the intake

heres a better view of the intake thru the signal light hole

These are the bolts that go in from the back side to hold the Battery Box in place

A piece of tape on the backside of the strap will hold it until you get the nuts started

Heres a view of the bolt strap going in thru the old intake hole its tight but you can reach your hand in there

Heres what it should look like when the bolts are thru

Put the box back on Tighten the nuts and reinstall your battery, I did have to bend the lip up a little for the Battery to fit and you will have to reroute the Rad tank line

My plan for the 96 is to put the battery inplace of overflow/resivoir tank. The overflow/resivoir inplace of air filter and air filter where battery was.

You did a nice job with the backing bolts.

Nice Job Bruce!.....How are you gonna route the airflow coming in from that hole?......I'm sure there is gonna be some new PVC/plumbing involved....Is the plastic air intake/router gonna stay?

It's gonna be a nice straight shot of outside ambient air temp.......Can't wait to see the finished product!

Sorry, just saw the other thread you started, pretty much answered all my questions

:rolleyes5:

I did the reverse of Louis, I saw your other thread first. This thread answers my questions. The only thing I have problems with is there is no room for a top post battery. I may have an answer for that though. I just need to do some measuring and comparing.

Looks nice, your race heritage shows, with all the holes in the plate.

It looks like you have a lot of room between the battery and turbo. Did you consider using some 1X1 square tubing as a spacer between the box and fender? It looks like this would space the batt just far enough to clear the fender flange and still leave plenty of space to the turbo, and maybe allow the box to drop just a bit to allow better hood clearance.

I like what I'm seeing, which means I need to get myself motivated to do what I had planned since I now have a filter box. It takes a K47 type filter for a gasser. The box is laid out backwards to the diesel K47 airbox.

JiF edit: NSV link removed
this link is for a 35.00 batt box that's on back order. what was the reason for putting that here?

Gentlemen -

Site rules state no direct links to Non-Site Vendors. Loosely interpreted, that means if a site vendor carries the part, we remove the hotlink to their competitors.

Bruce indicated he would be selling the kit, therefore I removed the link.

I left the address, should you REALLY want to see the 35 dollar back-ordered box from a competitor who does not support you guys.
