I was at a store last night and when I got home I noticed a scratch on the passenger side about 3' long...I don't know if it was a cart or a key, but it's deep enough to feel and has a white look. I can't tell if it's the clearcoat or deeper. Of course it's damn cold outside, so using any compounds for rubbing is gonna suck. Is this something for a body shop or can I get it out?

I know I should put up a pic, but we're heading out for vacation and the camera is packed. Thanks in advance...

Put a grocery cart next to it and you will be able to tell if it was or not.

Since you can't tell if it is all the way down to the metal I would suggest buying some of that touch up paint from the local parts place.
If that does not work then the body shop could fix it.

I'd try a clear coat compound first...sometimes those white scratches are not too bad and are not through the clearcoat...
