Yes, your 12 V truck should be wired in parallel. This keeps the two batteries supplying 12 V with maximum amperage draw from the batteries. That is why it is important to keep two equal condition batteries on your truck.
If it were wired in series then you would have a 24 V system with less amperage available. That is how the CUCV trucks and hmmwv are wired
