seriously thinking about getting one...but I only use about 30 gallons every two weeks...I'd have to find a good source of WVO ... but I may have some contacts... I'd really need to find someone else local to buy excess fuel from me for it to really pay off...otherwise $3000 would take a long time to pay for itself...

just kicking it around...

Hey Pepp: Look at it this way, at $5.00 per gallon, you would need to use 600 gallons to have the Fuelmiester II pay for itself. That would equal $3000.00. 600 gallons times say 18 mpg equals 10800 miles and it would pay for itself. I am also looking at this. Or making my own appleseed processor. This is of course if I did my facts correctly.

You shoulda bought the one I had for sale Pepp......

FM II?

is that what you had?

how much did you get for it if I might ask?

Well I need to find someone to buy the excess BD for it to pan out...I've got some grocery managers that have a deli's that fry chicken that will let me take their oil...but it has to be consistently picked up...that means a lot of BD I can't use...

you think someone would pay $3 a gallon for the stuff?

Yup.Check with all of the fast food and Chinese restaurants too.Good sources.
I got my initial investment back.It was around 1400.00 altogether.

The way things are going I'm sure you could sell off whatever you make and at least get your money back on your costs for your own fuel. The processor will pay for itself regardless.

Damn, now you guys got me thinking about it. How much of a pain in the ass is the process to do? I have 2 Dmaxes, and have at least 1 buddie that would do it with me. I'd imagine I could use it for my equipment? (Case diesel trencher and IR 185 compressor). Sorry, I know nothing about this and havn't done any research.

And 66FLH, why did you sell yours??

Hey boys
Me and a buddy both have diesels down here Texas way. Were very interested in making our own Bio and or filtering WVO. Also I have heard some chatter about SVO.
If any of you have more links or input on any of these please pass them on here.
Also, these may sound really stupid but can a veggie / seed press be safely used on getting feed stock oils ? And after we have the oils does this pure feedstock oil need to be "cooked" or filtered ? Can the feedstock oil be put directly into a tank as long as the tank has a heating element to keep it fluid ? Just asking ...were new to exploring the alt. fuels for our diesel trucks. Thanks in advance.

I have a system on order and it should be here this week. I plan on reproducing ones similar to the fuel-meister and putting them up for sale (with the forum's approval of course).

pepp, in most states you are limited to 400/gals per run per quarter, or else you have to pay state road taxes.

no one will be the wiser if you keep your equipment inconspicuous.....out of sight out of mind.....no one dips for bio-diesel.....they dip for red fuel though

oh, i bet if enough of the govn't road tax revenue goes missing one of these days from the popularity of bio diesel, they will develop a test, actually one of my friends work for a company that makes litmus test strips and they have been filling orders for organic fuel oil strips. little fyi.............

good point, believe me, there WILL be a detection method, just like when the whole red-dye thing started, it WILL happen if bio diesel gains enough popularity. The govn't always finds some way to collect tax dollars. Seriously, do you think the govn't will let you and anyone else drive around on roads you don't pay for, you are not hurting them by doing this, you are hurting fellow taxpayers that play by the rules, and watch it, there is a certain officer on here that checks on discussions like this!
